This journey has come full circle.
Just over two years ago, I put down a deposit on the new 2007 Ducati 1098S. Why Ducati?? Quite simply, it had been a lifelong dream for me to own the exotic Italian piece of machinery. For various reasons, I was not able to complete the Ducati purchase. From May '07 through October '08, I owned the following bikes: 2007 Honda CBR1000RR, 2007, Kawasaki ZX-14, 2006 Honda ST1300, 2006 Honda VTX1300R and a 2008 Suzuki SV650. All of them served their purpose and I enjoyed them all.
On May 15, 2009, I traded my SV650 for a 2009 Ducati 848. I went to Motorcycles of Charlotte after an invitation to come test ride the 848 and a Triumph Daytona 675. I rode the 675 first and while the 3-cylinder engine was intriguing, I was never comfortable on the bike. Next, I rode the 848 ... enough said. |
